Thomas (Tom) Sputore was the first of four sons to Angelo Sputore and Lucia Barone, both pre-war migrants.
He spent his early years in the eastern goldfields and the south-west before moving with his family to Perth in 1954. He left school early but gained a psychology degree through part-time study.
He spent the majority of his professional life at the University of WA. He married and had two sons, Marc and Christian, and subsequently divorced.
Tom’s curious nature and enquiring mind has motivated him to travel widely and pursue many interests. He repartnered with Melita Brown in 1975 and together they have followed an active life style, liberally sprinkled with travel, books, close bonds with family and friends and more recently, grandchildren.
He is a self confessed European in an Australian skin who promotes family connections
