Nicola Menna was born in Vasto
(Chieti Abruzzo Italy) 12 January 1938.
He worked on his family’s farm from an early age, and then learnt the trade of cabinet making.
He migrated to Australia arriving in Fremantle 26 June 1956 on the ship Surriento. He was sponsored by Giuseppe Zaccaria.
He worked in a variety of jobs including the railway, bush clearing, formwork and also spent some time in the asbestos mine in Wittenoom.
Pina Menna (nee Nardi) was born in Capistrello (Aquila Italy) 27 October 1947.
She migrated to Australia with her mother and younger sister in 1957.
She married Nicola in 1967 and they have three children Antonio, Daniele and Adriano.
